There are so many small people in the world. Their life is not easy, they are constantly treated unjustly. They are poor men. Fortunately, they do also have something to rely on. A thick book that holds the answers to all the questions. A wise uncle who knows what is right and how to live your life. If you happen to have a book like that and an uncle like that, then life is not at all that difficult anymore. At least you don’t have to think for yourself. You just have to do as the book and the uncle say and everything will be fine.
The ABC Book is a story about a man who has his hornbook and his uncle Paul. It is a story about a small and simple person. It is a story about a slumbering mind.

The play premiered on 10 September 2004 in Luts’ Theatre House in Tartu.

The Estonian Drama Theatre also released a sound recording of Rooster of the Hornbook. The CD can be purchased at the theatre box office. We thank our sponsors Ascar Tallinn and Eesti Raadio.
