Renowned architect Halvard Solness wants to end his career on a grand note and build something he has dreamed of all his life. i.e. the tallest tower in the city. Construction has started, but the project is turning out to be much more expensive than planned and threatens to bankrupt the Solness family business. The old master has decided to finish the construction no matter the cost. Solness’s son Ragnar yearns to escape his father\u2019s shadow and succeed on his own as an architect, while Solness\u2019s wife Aline is trying to keep the family together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Solness’s story is about how we behave as human beings when life seems to crumble between our fingers, leaving us with nothing. The old architect starts working on something he has wanted to do all his life, but the times and his family have changed, and nothing is working in his favour. Everyone is trying to prove themselves. Everyone is longing for life. The young want to be better than his elders. And the elders\u2026they don’t want to just be \u201eold\u201d. The eternal conflict of generations, in which hope and grace still exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
