The workshops are free of charge. Pre-performance workshops will be held in either the Maalisaal or Chamber Hall at the theater building. If space and time are available, we are also prepared to facilitate post-performance discussions either in the theater building or at the school premises. To request a workshop, please express your interest no later than 2 weeks in advance.
For inquiries, to arrange a workshop or to discuss collaboration opportunities, please contact Kairi Kruus, project manager of the Literary Department at kairi.kruus@draamateater.ee or by phone at +372 683 1404.
Pre-Performance Workshops
Pre-performance workshops are aimed at providing a deeper understanding of the themes and atmosphere of the play. Depending on the production, the workshop may focus on introducing the background of the original work or shedding light on the play’s creation process and theatrical language.
An introduction to the fundamentals of writing a theatre review can also be included as a useful starting point. This can help students gather ideas on how to analyze and reflect on their experience of the play, and write about it in the form of a review. The workshop typically starts at 6:00 pm and lasts for a maximum of 40 minutes.
Post-Performance Discussion
Post-performance discussion is an opportunity for students to delve deeper into various aspects of the play together. The discussion is primarily focused on the students, and we encourage them to share their opinions, consider different perspectives, and listen to their peers’ viewpoints.
The topics covered and the structure of the workshop may vary depending on the specific performance attended. We are flexible regarding the duration of the workshop, but typically the discussion lasts for 1.5 hours.
