tHe caRetaker

Harold Pinter

We have all seen an empty room either in our imagination or in reality. The room needs to be furnished and equipped with everything needed to live. „The Caretaker“ offers different scenarios on how to build a home.
Two brothers deal with real estate development. One of them is so well-off that all he thinks about is building something real with his own hands, like a shed, for example (despite having a golden block ring and wearing a cashmere coat). At the same time, he has bought some illegal items he wants to sell such as vaccines, weapons, cigarettes and high-quality shoes for men and women. The second brother is restless and coming up with ideas about how to offer the perfect furnishings for high-rise buildings. As their business ideologies do not match, an experienced person is brought into the house to be a house manager. What the two businessmen need is salt of the earth; someone who knows life and can handle finances with a human touch. The room will be furnished. It’s no longer an apartment – it’s a castle!
Might the man that joined the brothers be their father?
