The Republic of Estonia is turning 100, and to celebrate the occasion, the theatre club “Northern lights” decides to put on a musical dedicated to the Freedom War called “Homeland Sparrows”.

Unfortunately not much has changed in Estonian life over the past century: if men back in the day didn’t feel like going to war, nowadays they don’t feel like putting on a play. So the hard working women have to bear the whole burden on their shoulders and manage to celebrate the centenary on their own.

This production is a collaboration between the Estonian Drama Theatre and the Nargenfestival, and it was part of the EV 100 theatre series “The Story of a Century”.
